1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage, work the same way. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) we must obtain your consent before setting anything that is not strictly necessary for the site to work.
2. What we use
Strictly necessary (no consent required)
- sac-cookie-consent, browser local storage. Remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies so we stop asking. Stored until you clear your browser data. Contains only the word “accepted” or “rejected”.
- Session and security, short-lived technical data used to serve pages securely and protect the booking form from abuse.
Optional analytics (consent required)
If you press Accept all we may set analytics cookies that tell us, in aggregate, which pages are read and how visitors reach us. This helps us improve the site. These are never set unless you accept them, and they are not used to identify you personally or for advertising.
If you press “Reject optional”, no analytics or tracking technology is loaded at all.
Third-party content
Our Contact page embeds a Google Maps frame so you can see where we are. Google may set its own cookies when that map loads; this is governed by Google’s privacy policy. We do not receive any personal data from it.
3. Changing your mind
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings, our consent banner will then appear again on your next visit so you can choose differently. You can also block or delete cookies entirely in your browser, though parts of this or other websites may then not work as intended.
4. More information
For how we handle personal data generally, see our Privacy Policy. Any questions, email contact@sheffieldautocare.co.uk or call +44 114 267 8943.
