Our story

Built on the jobs we talked people out of

Sheffield Auto Care started because too many drivers were being sold repairs they did not need. Our reputation has been built, more than anything, on the times we have told a customer that the noise they were worried about was nothing, or that a worn bush could safely wait another six months.

We are a genuinely independent garage. We are not tied to a franchise and we have no manufacturer targets to hit, so the only thing that decides what goes on your invoice is what your car actually needs. We use manufacturer-specification parts and fluids, we record everything on your digital service history, and servicing here will not affect your new car warranty.

Come and watch through the workshop window if you like. Most people do, and most people end up asking Sarah what she is doing, which nobody here minds at all.

    Sarah Mitchell

    Master Technician

    Sarah has been under bonnets since she was sixteen and holds IMI Level 4 Master Technician status - the highest technical qualification in the UK trade. Diagnostics is her speciality: if a fault has beaten two other garages, it usually ends up on her ramp. She is hybrid and EV high-voltage qualified and leads our technical training.

    Service Manager

    James runs the workshop diary and makes sure nothing is done to your car that you have not agreed to first. He came up through the trade as a technician, so when he explains a quote he genuinely understands the job behind it. He is the person who will ring you with an update rather than leaving you wondering.

    Lisa Thompson

    Customer Care Coordinator

    Lisa is the voice on the other end of the phone and the first face you see at the counter. She handles bookings, courtesy car arrangements, our collection and delivery service and every warranty query. If you need your car back by school pick-up, tell Lisa and she will make it happen.

Visiting the garage

  • Parking

    Free off-street parking for 12 vehicles on our own forecourt, including a marked drop-off area by the shutter door. No permit and no meter.

  • Wheelchair access

    Step-free level entry through a wide automatic door, two wide bays beside the entrance, and a ground-floor accessible WC. Tell us when you book and we will meet you at the car.

  • Waiting area

    A proper lounge with free WiFi, hot drinks and a viewing window into the workshop, so you can see exactly what is happening to your car.
